The 9th new race winner of the MotoGP season, Joan Mir, is leading the championship by 37 points as riders head into the 2nd to last round at Valencia this weekend. With Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins currently tied for 2nd with 125 points and Maverick Vinales only 4 points behind them, it is needless to say that the Valencia GP will be crucial for the championship title. A podium finish this weekend for Mir will earn him the title of the 2020 MotoGP World Champion, one that has been claimed by Repsol Honda rider, Marc Marquez, the past 4 years in a row.

With a drier, more consistent weekend ahead in regards to weather forecast, riders are looking at a more productive Friday and Saturday where they can test bike set up and tires to be used on Sunday as all three days look slightly cool and partly cloudy. Known for his strategic tire management and elevated awareness of others, Joan Mir will no doubt pose a major threat this weekend as he fights for his 1st of what we are sure will be many, MotoGP World Champion title.
